French Fort Public Meeting & Charrette

On Saturday, August 20th, 2011, the MRDC held a public meeting and mini-charrette for the French Fort neighborhood.   Local developer Lauren Crews asked the MRDC to help gather public input for a master plan of the area that would be used to guide future development that would coincide with the upcoming improvements to the adjacent 1-55/Crump Boulevard intersection and the proposed Harahan Bridge Project.  Forty property owners, architects, planners and designers participated in the charrette.  The participants split up into groups and created conceptual plans for Mr. Crews to incoporate into one conceptual master plan that would include his future development projects in the neighborhood.  See below for copies of the plans and the developer’s latest conceptual master plan (come back for regular updates to this plan).
