Overton Square
Overton Square Public Meeting & Charrette
On Friday, July 24th, the MRDC held its first public meeting for Overton Square. Over 80 attendees gathered at Memphis Heritage‘s Howard Hall and spent the day sharing their ideas about the future of Overton Square. Neighbors, business owners, architects, planners and other concerned citizens spent 8 hours touring the square, sharing their vision of a revitalized Overton Square and putting their ideas to paper, designing several conceptual schemes for potential developers to consider. Additional public meetings will be held in the near future on evenings and/or weekends to collect further input from the public. A website has been created to allow concerned citizens to review the findings of the MRDC and continue to share their ideas about the future of Overton Square.
